Mrs. Kurck's class has been completing a book study on Titanic Sinks by Barry Denenberg. Students are learning to create journal entries from the perspective of a passenger that was aboard the Titanic. Students have been reviewing literary analysis; studying the author's craft and determining the "strong lead" sentences that authors use within their text to "hook" the reader, details and supporting evidence within the text as well as analyzing how informational text is presented versus narrative text. Students have also been working on presentations and public speaking.
