In a school board meeting held on Monday, October 18, 2021, the Beebe School District Board of Education voted to make masks optional for all staff and students on school campuses and in school vehicles. Please remember that anyone who chooses to continue to wear a face covering may certainly do so without fear of repercussion.

JANUARY 11, 2022 EDIT: At the January 10, 2022 Board of Education meeting, the School Board voted that masks remain optional for all students and staff on school campuses and in school vehicles. Any future decisions regarding face coverings will be made by the Board of Education.

You may view the district’s current COVID-19 numbers on our website, www.beebebadgers.org

Please remember that quarantine procedures will still be in place, as these are not set by the school district, but are directives from the Arkansas Department of Health. Current quarantine guidelines dictate that students or staff who are identified as close contacts with a COVID-positive individual must quarantine unless at least one of the following criteria is true:

  • Both individuals are properly wearing a face covering at the time of exposure and are symptom-free.

  • The close contact is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

  • The close contact has had COVID-19 and recovered within 90 days of diagnosis and is not experiencing symptoms.

Although the face covering policy has been relaxed, the health and safety of students and staff will be a continued priority. Social distancing will remain in place wherever possible, all visitors will be screened for COVID symptoms before entering school buildings, and enhanced cleaning measures will continue across the district. We also have strong partnerships with our community pharmacies and ARcare, who are readily available to provide vaccinations to any eligible individuals.

You can help us in these mitigation efforts by ensuring that anyone in your care who is symptomatic stays home. If a student is showing any symptoms, do not send that student to school until you know it is not COVID-related. Along with the potential of spreading sickness, sending symptomatic students to school will likely result in many more students having to be quarantined. We want to avoid this if at all possible.

We want to thank all of our stakeholders for your patience and cooperation as we continue to work through these challenging times together and provide the best educational experience possible for our students.
